Abstract

Kemampuan menulis surat lamaran kerja berbahasa Inggris merupakan keterampilan esensial bagi siswa SMK untuk bersaing di dunia kerja global. Di SMK Muhammadiyah, masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami struktur penulisan, penggunaan bahasa formal, dan etika penulisan surat lamaran kerja sesuai standar profesional. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dirancang untuk membekali siswa dengan keterampilan praktis melalui pendekatan interaktif yang mencakup penyampaian materi, studi kasus, latihan mandiri, dan sesi umpan balik. Pelatihan dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahap utama: pengenalan struktur surat, praktik penulisan, dan presentasi hasil karya. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman siswa terhadap format surat, pemilihan diksi formal, serta kepercayaan diri dalam menulis surat lamaran kerja secara mandiri. Pelatihan ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap kesiapan siswa menghadapi proses seleksi kerja, khususnya pada bidang yang menuntut kemampuan komunikasi tertulis dalam bahasa Inggris. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini menjadi strategi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan daya saing lulusan SMK agar lebih adaptif terhadap kebutuhan industri dan dinamika dunia kerja yang terus berkembang.
