Abstract

Pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi media internet masyarakat Desa Hanura, Kabupaten Pesawaran untuk menangkal hoaks. Desa Hanura menjadi salah satu desa yang telah berhasil menerapkan smart village dibandingkan dengan beberapa desa lain di Provinsi Lampung.  Smart village adalah suatu program kebijakan yang menciptakan suatu desa supaya mampu dan bisa menyelesaikan masalahnya sendiri secara cerdas dan desa yang bisa dan mampu menggunakan teknologi digital untuk mengembangkan potensi di tingkat desa untuk menyejahterakan masyarakatnya. Namun, keberhasilan smart village tidak hanya berkaitan dengan infrastruktur saja, melainkan perlu diiringi dengan terbentuknya smart community. Sumber daya masyarakat yang kurang cerdas akan menjadi korban dari perkembangan teknologi media yang didominasi oleh konten negatif seperti hoaks (penyimpangan informasi) yang bisa merugikan diri sendiri dan orang lain. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini memberikan materi dan praktik terkait literasi informasi media internet dan identifikasi hoaks kepada 34 peserta. Peningkatan level keberdayaan secara kuantitatif ditunjukkan dengan perubahan nilai evaluasi pre-test dan post-test, dengan peningkatan pemahaman peserta antara 20–80 %. Secara kualitatif, seluruh peserta mampu menerapkan kemampuan literasi informasi untuk mengidentifikasi hoaks di internet. Kegiatan ini terbukti mampu meningkatkan kapasitas literasi masyarakat dan menunjang pencapaian smart community pada program Smart Village di Desa Hanura.
