Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi masyarakat Pekon Sukamara, Kecamatan Bulok, Kabupaten Tanggamus adalah meningkatnya volume sampah plastik yang belum dikelola secara optimal, sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan pencemaran lingkungan dan menurunkan kualitas hidup. Kurangnya kesadaran masyarakat serta minimnya pemahaman mengenai potensi ekonomi dari pengelolaan sampah menjadi kendala utama dalam menangani persoalan ini. Sebagai respons, tim Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dari Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Lampung melaksanakan kegiatan pemberdayaan berbasis edukasi dan penguatan kapasitas melalui pendekatan partisipatif. Kegiatan ini mencakup sosialisasi pentingnya pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan, penyampaian materi tentang nilai ekonomis sampah plastik, studi kasus praktik bisnis daur ulang yang sukses, serta fasilitasi perencanaan awal pembentukan bank sampah melalui pembentukan Kelompok Penggerak Lingkungan (KPL). Peserta kegiatan terdiri atas 20 anggota PKK, 5 aparat pekon, didampingi oleh 4 dosen dan 4 mahasiswa, serta melibatkan narasumber dari LSM Emak Id. dan pelaku usaha daur ulang plastik. Target luaran kegiatan ini meliputi peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pengelolaan sampah, komitmen kolektif dalam pembentukan bank sampah, serta penguatan sinergi antara masyarakat, pemerintah pekon, dan perguruan tinggi.
